We set sail from the Getxo marina to reach the bay of Neguri where we find ourselves, with its palaces and stately homes, a reflection of the economic power of the former owners of the Iron Mines (Minas de Hierro) and the Blast Furnaces (Altos Hornos) of Bizkaia.
We will reach the mouth of the estuary, the charismatic Suspension Bridge of Bizkaia, an engineering work similar to the Eiffel Tower, which for 125 years has joined both banks of the estuary and is a World Heritage Site.
Our sailing, among gigantic cranes, will transport us to ancient times when both banks of the Bilbao Estuary, from Santurce to Bilbao, passing through Erandio and Sestao, sheltered numerous shipyards of Fishing, Merchant and even Warships, some of which still sail all over the seas of the World today.
Our journey continues sailing in front of the Maritime Museum, and the New San Mamés Football Pitch, Euskalduna Palace, University of Deusto, Iberdrola Tower and the Guggenheim Museum.
We will continue and pass under bridges such as La Salve, Calatrava, we will arrive at the Town Hall and end up at the Rivera Market.
There we will turn around and return to Getxo again
The Bilbao estuary is home to more than half a dozen Rowing Regatta (Traineras) Teams that we will easily find training as we sail through the Nervión. This sport arouses passions in the Basque Country.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Our sea itineraries are flexible and variable depending on the weather. The Skipper is the one who sets the course for each day and reserves the right to cancel the start based on safety.
Terms and conditions
PRICE: € 330 Whole boat, not individually
DURATION: Duration of 4 hours in the morning from 10.30 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. and in the afternoon from 4.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. although it will all be subject to the tide.
PLACE: The departure and arrival takes place at the Getxo Marina.
DATES: All year round. (Depending on the weather).
CAPACITY: 6 people + skipper
INCLUDE: Skipper, fully equipped boat, insurance, taxes. It also includes fuel, mooring and final cleaning.
DOES NOT INCLUDE: Breakfast, lunch or dinner and any other non-specified concept.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Wear appropriate clothing according to the weather: bathing suit, towel, sunscreen, non-black soled sports shoes and warm clothing.
